After her mother, a kittypet, moved into the clan. Bearbelly has always been nurtured to have a free spirit and loving personality, but extremely sheltered from the conflicts of the clan.

Growing up in the weird period between the leader, Winterstar, taking on old clan traditions and leaving old conflicts behind in the snow, Bearbelly took on the task of training to assume the role of Deputy. Going to extreme, almost deadly lengths to get the spot, believing she was nearly invincible against the tundra winds.
